Leader Representation and Public Trust

Two words best describe this issue: Follow - through.  How many candidates get into office after winning the election then disappear?  How many elected officials actually listen to what the people have to say and commit to working on the issues you want corrected?  When was the last time you saw (face-to-face, shaking hands) your current State Senator? 

As your State Senator, Jeff will continue to be an active leader in our communities, showing up at local events, listening to the public's issues, then taking those issues to Sacramento and doing his best to resolve them. Jeff is not interested in "playing government."  His priority is representing you to the best of his ability.

Ending Poverty and Crime

One would be hard pressed to find a more important issue that Jeff feels so passionate about than ending poverty and crime.  This is something that can't be fixed overnight.  However, Jeff is committed to doing all he can to help those trying to better themselves get the support they need to succeed.  Poverty and crime are not exclusive problems, where you find one, you most often find the other. 

However, the best solution to poverty is wealth!  No other program can solve poverty like wealth can!  And how can you gain wealth?  By making sure that our children succeed in schools and that there are plenty of jobs available when they graduate.  This is hard to do  when some 50% to 60% of school children are failing and 42% don't even graduate!  And if we keep over-taxing and over-regulating businesses right out of California, there won't be any jobs available when they do graduate.

Strengthening Education

Jeff believes that education for our children is one of the most important issues we face today. Children are our future!  We all understand that!  As your State Senator, Jeff will work hard to make sure that every school gets the resources needed to give our children a proper education and a fighting chance at creating a better future.

Children don't fail school because they lack intelligence.  Children fail school because they lack family support, personal discipline, or proper school resources. But whatever the problem, Jeff will begin the process to fight for these children to help them reach their full potential.

Legal Immigration

As the previous Director of the San Diego International Students Association, no one loves international people more than Jeff does.  As Jeff always says, you can travel the world without ever leaving San Diego.  However, we are a nation of laws and we should be obey those laws.  Jeff welcomes all to come to our country, but agrees that they should do it like all good new citizens, that is legally.
